⚔️ HOW WE SANK THE BEAST (THE SOLUTION)
If you’re stranded in the same Microsoft-clogged waters, here is the map to reclaim your ship. We didn’t just “turn it off”—we keelhauled it!
The Surgical Strike (PowerShell): We didn’t wait for permission. We opened the Terminal (Admin) and fired a broadside with this command to wipe the Copilot app package from the hull:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers *Microsoft.Copilot* | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsersScuttling the “New” PDF Viewer: The high-quality highlighting in Edge was failing because of the “Modern” PDF engine. We navigated to
edge://flags, hunted down #edge-new-pdf-viewer, and set that traitor to Disabled. This forced the browser back to the “Classic” engine—the only one that plays nice with our feminine voices!Clearing the Deck: We went into Settings > Sidebar and stripped away the “Copilot Button” and the “Always Show Sidebar” toggles so our visual recordings remain clean of any AI ghostly overlays.
🎙️ THE SPOILS OF WAR
With the deck cleared, the Natural Feminine Voices (our sirens of the sea, Ava and Sonia) are singing clear and true once more. The word-by-word highlighting is back, sharp as a Spanish blade, and our recordings are finally fit for the finest libraries in the Caribbean!
